Dont worry your pretty head about sand being on it LOL I should have posted up a picture of the ones I've done in the past... I need to know what color you want the display board to be. Cold grey is the easiest. Earth is also easy. I can do desert too for minimal cost.

I'd really be happy with just sand glued on it! My current display board is:

I made a trip to Texas by plane with an army a couple years ago and just used one of the army transport zip up bags with the layers of foam trays. Just make sure you check which airline you are taking so you can check the dimensions of the carry on you can bring aboard. This way you can bring your army with you on the plane and don't have to worry about other peoples suitcases being thrown on top of your models! The xray machine attendants usually scan the bag twice and get a good laugh at what it is, but I never had a problm getting them on and off the plane. Hope this helps and I will see you at Adepticon!

If money isn't an issue there are two rather kick ass army bag systems that I personally have tried out, own, and use frequently. Army Transport (been around for a while now) www.saboldesigns.net/home.htmlBattle Foam (Hard sides so excellent for air travel also Many demo videos with the creator online to see if you like the system) www.battlefoam.com/

...I think if you have the cash, there are always great products to get. I'm wondering what you do if you don't have the cash... Unfortunately, money is an issue...

This will sound silly bit it works well. Take a clear shoe box sized box and place doubled up dish towels in between layers of models. wrapping up bigger ones. If you can fill the box so its tight the models won't move much and you have a very cheap army transporter

I just use Battlefoam. Yes it's expensive... but so is the hobby we enjoy. Shelling out a few extra bones for ridiculous convenience and protection is well worth the investment in my mind.

The problem is that I will probably never use the case again. I live in NC on the mid-east coast. There are no GT's within decent range that wouldn't cost a lot of money to go to. I don't have a lot of money for travelling for my hobby. I'm married with kids. So, why spend a huge amount of cash on something that I won't use again?
The only reason I'm going to Adepticon is b/c a vendor is paying for my trip. I couldn't afford it otherwise.
