Again with the Stout!!! I was sitting painting and decided to see if something Updated. Sure enough here you guys are Drinkin again! So I cracked one and drank and painted while listening. Maybe it was a bad idea with an inner ear infection but painting became way more fun tryin to hit the models with the brush LOL Great episode!
Ohh and it was me that commented on the Stout... LOVE IT!
Tom, we haven't met yet but I'm sure we will as I'm starting to get more into WFB and the tournament scene.

Page 40 Brettonian Army Book:
Characters must be put in the front rank if at all possible displacing Champions Standard Bearers and Musicians into the second or third if necessary. Standard bearers and Musicians operate as normal even if not in the front rank.
I also have a huge Bretonnian army. I just dont play em anymore. I got tired of the rubber lance.
Chris
Edit: Whats wrong with themed dice... I had a full set of dice from chessex with the Nurgle symbol on the 6 face.. They were in 2 colors all were the same size all the same build. 6 face was the symbol. I ALWAYS explained my dice to the opponent before the game. Would you have a problem with that?? HUH HUH !!! Just kidding about the nerd rage. I think that a full set of dice with the same symbol on them is ok but I have played people who have several sets of dice and all the symbols are different. One guy in particular cheats during the game with rules, movement, hell last game I saw him play was a 3k game and he only had 540 core....(you need 750) I love a good set of custom dice. I have a few sets myself and use a different set for each army, call me crazy but I believe in dice mojo, kama, whatever... The dice gods sure dont love me... !

Dude, I apologize profusely for not remembering it was you that said you likey da' stout! I totally blanked on the air I mean, it isn't like we have 100's of people on the site yet, I could afford to know everyone by name atm! So accept my apologies and have another stout! :> Yeah, the custom dice hangup is a personal thing of mine I just need to get over. Of course I don't really think that everyone who uses custom dice are cheaters. We use the term "cheater dice" around here jokingly to refer to anything that is hard to read- be it for color or graphic reasons Hey, I have lots of dice hate... I hate huge dice too! :> They are ridiculous and knock all your models down and I hate when people think it is cool to roll their gianormous jumbo dice onto the table and knock the terrain down See, I am an equal opportunity dice hater Thanks for the Bret rules update. I thought they had some special ability in that department. -Erik

I have to say that I am a beer lover and a beer snob. I will also say that I can tell the difference between a good beer and a crap beer. Also, I can say there are good beers that I can't stand. Stout is a type of beer I dislike. Oh, there are some quality stouts and I recognize that they are good, but I don't like 'em. What do I like? Primarily, I like Pilsners and most other types of Lagers. Yeah, lots of people who like stouts say they think the lighter beers are all weak. It's not true! Many Lagers have the same (if not higher) Alcohol Content as stouts. I just like the taste. I just can't stand anything bitter.
I have to tell you guys, though.....Blue Moon Belgian White is.....CRAP! Blue Moon is a fake micro beer run by Coors. It's about the cheapest and worst Belgian White on the market. If you try drinking some real Belgian Whites, you will quickly learn that Blue Moon actually tastes like crap. I had a friend that loved Blue Moon and thought I was being stuck up about it. I took him to the Flying Saucer in Raleigh. We drank many different kinds of beers. He learned to love many different beers beyond his Michelob. I also made sure he drank many different kinds of Belgian White. One day he ordered a Blue Moon as he wanted to try it again. He remembered me saying it was bad and he wanted to try it again. He was able to drink about an inch of it. My friend declared it utter crap and he was never able to stomach the stuff again! It's pure hang over material. It's like Kilean's Red. There are good Amber Ales, but it isn't Kilean's!
So, what is a good Belgian White? Try Hoegarden. You can get it at Harris Teeter or some of the better grocery stores. It is expensive, but it is MUCH better than Blue Moon. Also, it's the brewery that saved the Belgian White style of brewing, but that is a story for another time.....
Great show guys! I really like how Kevin adds a lot to the show. When you talk about things like Solegend website. He doesn't know what it is and asks. You go into the entry level stuff and don't talk over everyone's head. It's a great mix of player levels and I think it adds a lot to the show to have Kevin on there.
The "North Carolina Masters League" is also usually called the "NC Winter League" by Chad Hogan, the guy who runs it. This is the third year it's been running. The first year it didn't make it outside of Charlotte (which is why it looks like the 2nd year to you). I think it's a bad name as it isn't winter yet and the tournament even happens before winter starts. I like the North Carolina Masters League and am going to start calling it that instead. It also might get more people to sign up.

Well, since there is a beer section, I went and posted the excellent story of Hoegaarden beer, Andrew Celis, and the Belgian White.

Don't misunderstand man I agree with ya. I also don't think all those dice are needed but a nice set of matching dice rock as long as they are clearly able to be read.

So I just finished listening to episode 2 on my way to the Bunker. I'm playing a game against a Demon player and he is using the "cheater dice". On his own accord anytime he rolled the symbol (which replaced the 6) he would pick up the dice and show me the 1 underneath. Made me laugh hysterically. He must have had a run in with his own Erik.

Just a quick note on UK based podcasts.
You mentioned Baddice. Don't get me wrong I like listening to this myself but I would not have it on with my 7yr old in the room. they do swear quite alot.
Heelanhammer is great. Dan edits out or bleeps any swearing on the main shows but the SAWC episodes do have a bit of bad language.
2gamerradio and failhammer are also for the adult audiance only club.
As for the theamed dice, I am happy to play against them so long as they are clearly seen and I am told what the odd symbol means. I would draw the line at dice with multiple symbols or lots of different symboled dice. I also get twitchy when people pick up the hits rather than picking up and discard the misses. haha.
