Very nice deep shading and a solid model! I like it. You have an interesting (in a good way!) effect on the metal.
I think bringing up the "bone" parts a shade more would really put some pop into the model. You have those huge expanses of bone/horn on the head and handle of the weapon. Using multiple layers of really thin (just at the edge of controllable) successively lighter/whiter towards the tips/edges would make a huge difference imo.
It takes time though but on a centerpiece model like this you might consider it :>
Nice post. Who makes that model again?

Its a Heresy Model. Its a great company to deal with. On the metal I was going for a dried crusty blood look. I think it looks like it. Most people put a line of red at the edge and to me that just looks wrong. With so many skulls reaped why not a stained look on the metal. It is exactly how I pictured it.

The more slick, wet looking ones. Definitely.

Have to agree, they look more slimey/bloody and the horns laqured and cared for. Like I would expect a demon to look.

Glad thats the ones you like, cause after I had a day to think about it I think the darker the Daemon the more blood soaked he has been and the older he is. Kinda a Daemon ranking system. I really like the shiny ones too and dont think I will dullcoat em. Here is what I got done last night and today, These are the Khorne models I have left to paint.

10 more done and dipped. I plan on doing the basing a unit at a time. Easier that way for me. If I do the command tonight I'll have painted 25 bloodletters this week and the Bloodthirster. My hand hurts!

I'm horrible with freehand. That being said, OMFG This is the best banner I have ever done!!!!!!

OK!!!! I have one fully painted unit of Bloodletters. I have to wait for the dip to dry (sometime tomorrow) and then I can base em and magnetize em. I want the first unit completely done before I start on paint for the second unit. I'll snap pictures when I get em based. 30 more bloodletters to go!

That symbol is really cool. Well done! May be neat to flat the banner and then gloss the symbol with a brush. Could also be cool to get some blood splatter on the bottom of the banner.

Looking fantastic mate. Love the winged deamon, I've got a purple one that could do with a new paintjob.

Last time I went down to the Bloomington area to see our friends at the Waaagh! cast, I brought my Beastmen army. As a display board I brought part of my Realm of Battle table. This time I'm bringing Daemons (go figure) and its been the plan all along to have a display board that fits the army. As you may have noticed I don't do anything half assed. I am building a three layer board based on Khornes realm in the warp. My plan is two sections of land separated by a river, with a raised dais for the general to look out over his troops... If I pull it off, i think it will really set my army apart. Here is what I have so far.

OK so I couldn't stay away from em. I have the Gravel on the bases and the movement tray done. I have to drybrush the bases, paint the edges of the bases black, and then put the magnets on the bottom of the bases. THEN they are done. Tomorrow before work maybe?
