Okay, here is something for the forums. Shadow school says that once a spell is cast and resolved, the caster may swap places with a friendly character of the same troop type within 18''.
Now does this mean I can charge my Sorc. up the middle and blast spells away as hard as I can and at the last moment swap her out for my close combat dreadlord camped in a support unit because they are both clssified "Infantry".
I realize it says a friendly "character" so it doesnt mean I can swap her with any other infantry in the army... or am I mistaken on that too..?

yep no probs with that providing your friendly dread lord is not mounted on anything, as this would stop him being inf.

Hmm, that can make for some very fluid and tricky Assassin placement and revealing. Thanks, I'll have to brainstorm on that.

More interesting to me, if you have a champion who is a Shadow Mage (ex. Chosen champ with the Book of Secrets) is he allowed to swap after a casting? My gut says no, but I'm trying to prove it with something actually written.
Odds are I'm using said champ in my campaign games tomorrow (cheapest mage I can really get for a 750pt starter game) so quick responses would be best.

Bro,
On that one I would say part of me wants to say yes if the chosen champ had cast a shadow spell then he is the caster and could be swapped with another character model.
But this could create the prob that he is now not with his unit anymore and he is still a chosen champion and part of that unit.
You could get around this by having 2 units of chosen with characters in and he could end up in the other unit.
Just my thoughts.

I think if you look in the rules for champions there is something in there that says they may never leave their unit for any reason. Thus meaning even if the champion was a spell caster he could not use the lore attribute.
I don't have my book with me so I'll have to confirm it later, but I seem to recall reading something like this.
