I am thinking of taking this to Adepticon
Slann - Beasts Becalming Mystery Rumination Cupped Hands Standard of Discipline
5 Scar Veterans with LA and Shield
23 Saurus with Spears FC
24 Saurus with HW and Shield FC
10 Skinks Skirmishing
21 Temple guard FC
6 Chameleon Skinks
2 Salamander Hunting Packs with extra handlers ran separately

IMHO you are wasting your slann with beasts. The lizard man army doesnt suffer from low STR or toughness, its weakness is its initiative. You're much better off with Lore of Light. Speed of Light and Brionas are way more beneficial to this army than any other lore in the game.
Hope this helps

Yeah, but it is fun to have 5 scar vets with strength 8 and 7 attacks!
Also, everyone else takes life and light. I want people that play me to have a change of pace when they see my lizard list.

When i hear change of pace and lizards I think Scar vet on a Carnosaur. Now THAT is fun to face.
*shudders* that thing is one of the coolest models in the game too!

Yeah, but beast makes all my Scar Vets better than a Carnosaur:) I took an old blood on cold one last year with blade of realities and that was fun. This year I had an idea for a carno with 4 lvl2 skinks and against anybody with war machines each of them would take a blizzard to try and cut down the amount of cannonballs to the face and such:)

I understand not rolling "the same" as everyone else. The main reason I would stay away from beasts with a slaan is because there is a completely unusable spell (transformation).
LIfe & Light are obviously good but I am loving shadow.
Every spell has a use but the hexes are really powerful for lizards. Rather than boosting your troops you are bringing the enemy down to your level (or less) allowing the natural awesomeness of Saurus to shine through. Steed of Shadows could also be very useful to position one of your heroes in a support role to take out warmachines. Pendulum for killing multi-wound things and Pit for sniping warmachines / Killing enemy slann. Add in the awesome-sauce of the Mind Razor and you are set for fun.
I can also think of some really sneaky moves using a Slann + Smoke & Mirrors (though taking TG negates those tricks).
The only other things I could suggest would be to make your 10 skinks another chameleon unit (unless you are being bound by %'s) and maybe dropping one of your heroes to put some ward saves / magic attacks on the other guys. The Burning blade is almost always in my lists.

Yeah, I ran shadow at the last tourney I went to. I love wither with slamander and okams on spears!
I don't mind transformation being worthless as I would almost never use it anyway, and I will never get all of my spells cast anyway. Savage Beast is going to take most of my dice each turn.
I like the idea of another unit of chamos... I am pretty certain my two blocks of saurus are plenty of core and I don't think that will put me over my special. The one thing it does is take away an opening throwaway drop.

The one thing it does is take away an opening throwaway drop. True but it's not like your deployment isn't going to be easy to read anyway with so few units. I just like Chameleons better now because of the better BS and harder to be shot. I'm also a huge fan of terradons and always run at least 1 unit.

Yeah, I will go from six drops +characters to 5, so maybe not too big of a deal. I might give it a try if it works out. Thanks!
