My 8yr old son has to do that shoebox habitat assignment for 3rd grade. The habitat must include omnivores, carnivores, and herbivores. HOW could I NOT encourage him to use warhammer animals? Yeah, I convinced him to do grasslands instead of a temperate forest. He'll be doing a green stuff snake. I wanted to find the one from the lizardman swarms, but I only have the lizard swarms. I filed off the horse saddle, and need to file the face straps yet.

Awesome! There have been a couple projects that I've been able to help how to do things. I even got to give advice about an underwater habitat and how to use paper clips to keep things propped up.

Great! Please send 12 snakes. Overnight them to get them here by Wednesday as his project is due. Oh, and please paint each one different - and only species native to North America. Thanks!!! (Just kidding!) Thanks very much for the offer! His project and report were due Monday. He said everything went great. He did all the work, and I think it got him interested in painting minis (Yea!). We found out after the fact that, despite the directions, parents do the project for their kids more often than not. While I was tempted to help him make it look perfect, my wife thankfully reminded me that it should look like an 8 year old did it. He glued on a plastic snake (not shown) my wife gave him, but I taught him and the 6 year old how to make them out of green stuff anyway. They thought green stuff was really cool.

I love projects like this. We have pinewood Derby coming up here soon and my son LOVES doing his own car. His first car was carved by me as he couldnt use the dremel yet but his second was all him... even the crooked wheels. This year he has a better grasp of the use of the tools so we'll see. Your boys project looks good! Hopefully he gets an A.

As I teacher I have to say BRAVO on combining Warhammer and homework. I swear, if I could find a way to bring more Warhammer into the classroom I'd be the happiest teacher in the district. (And it might even turn some of those kids into Warhammer players and that is always a wonderful thing, right?)

Yeah I have to say I love this as well. Also was it just me or did everyone stop at where all the animals were laid out and automatically started identifying what kit each one came from? Even if I'm the odd man out on that portion, great job with the project and super great idea!
