Hi guys,
My name is Thibaut, but call me T-Bro. I am originally from north east France and I am moved in Pittsburgh last Winter. I spent the 4 years before that working in the Netherlands where i learned most of my English and working so hard that I could only keep the painting aspect of the Hobby. So please let me start with a simple statement the gaming scene and possibilities in the US is simply AWESOME. In just few months I found a great (huge) shop that kindly host us for gaming and now i can my weekly fix of WFB at Legions and get to meet genuine Pennsylvanian: that rocks!
Back in Europe I attempted few times to create clubs with my friend/ local GW manager, but we never managed to find a place for that and none of us owned a garage big enough for more than a table. So here it is literally Disneyland for my models and I
I started at 15 and i am turning 30 so in order I collected first the Undead. I proudly own the models of nearly all the old kitschy catheters and I still believe that I will one day fin the time for the diorama displaying all of them at once (you may say I am dreamer). Then I started the old dark elves still in 5th, but I really developed this one during the 6th ed, by then I updated my Undead to over 6000 pt of Vampire Counts and 1500 of Tomb kings, before the change for 7th I acquired a huge army of Dwarf (back then over 10000 pts, less now with the latest way to build your army) and a 2000 pts of Ogres. I will be honest, I will never honestly tell what is actually painted, and just to quote one the best model painter we have in my native country: the painter time schedule is divided between the moments is getting late and moments is trying to catch up.
The sad truth is that I could not carry with me all my collection; so in US i have my Dwarfs and Ogres. Bu the truth is my approach to the Hobby (in correlation to my approach of the family) changed and I am now more looking forward to keep only the model I play and to have a certain turnover in my armies. I am now just finishing to update my Ogres for 8th and then I think I will trade it for something else I fancy at the time and then focus on updating the dwarf and so on. I am looking for a system that have good compromise between ever acquiring new armies without overstocking them. If some of you fond better solution, please let me know!
On the side note, I tried and loved Blood bowl, but never got to enjoy 40K. No offend fro the players I guess I am just too much of a Tolkien nerd.
Take care and thanks for reading till that point.
