Hi Guys,
This is Jim Chadwick from Charlotte. I'm also Groznit Goregut on a lot of the other forums, especially Da Warpath.
I used to live in Apex right near where the All Fun and Games is now. In fact, I lived there until right after when AFnG opened up at that location. I could have walked to the store and I got a job in Charlotte! At least I don't have to travel as far as you guys do to get to the store....
Oh, I'm also good friends with Alan Hovis. He's the one who got me into the game. Now, he uses work as an excuse to sit at home and play LOTRO with his wife every night instead of playing Warhammer. I finally let him at least look at the new rule book.

Hey Jim! Orcs iz da' best! I love playing O&G and against O&G. It truly doesn't get more fun in my opinion. After wood elves, chaos, and empire, I am going to do a goblin army...in like 2014. ;D

I look forward to seeing you in Dec. Well, I need to make it to the final tournament. I've got 46 pts, but I'm not sure if I will make it. I've got two full 18 pt wins and a lose of 6 pts. I've got one more game and it's with the best guy in the area (Dan Rothrock). I'm not sure how that is going to go. Dan's got one game in where he got a 18 max win. The guy who beat me is new to the area and he's got a nasty Demon list. I had the perfect scenario against him (Battle for the Pass), but my dice were against me in an epic way. Four turns of shooting war machines only saw one direct hit, but two misfires (that were both 1's to destroy themselves). Also, one of his units landed on 2 fanatics and I went to roll for 17 S5 hits.....and only got three (I only needed a 3+). So, Dan can do well and Jason (demon guy) can do well. I'm not sure if I will get in the finals or not.

Oh, you did get a tough draw for division :> I know both of those guys and they are both solid players.
IMO The tourney should at LEAST take the top three in each div(instead of two) since there are only 6 divs total.
Heck, I might vote for everyone this year since the numbers are not up to what they will be in the future :>

Yeah, we were talking about how Charlotte 1 had all the best players in it this year. It ended up this way as we had so few people interested this year. I don't know about your area, but lately no one is interested in Warhammer! I'm not sure the reason. We had two of our guys who are active in the area move out of state on temporary basis. Also, some guys refuse to play 8th Ed as they don't like how the rules look (but refuse to try a game of it).
Last year, Charlotte had 5 groups. This year, we started out with 2. There were some people who either didn't hear about it or decided late to join, and we have 3 groups in Charlotte. One group consists of Chad, the organizer, and his son and another guy and his son. Chad (who organizes it) is working out of state and not able to get many games in. So, he had to be in the 2nd group. That means that all the other best players were the only people in the Charlotte area who signed up. So, we have the best players in our area in one group (minus Chad).
Last year, though, I played OnG in a group with 2 VC, TK, and Bretts (Chad). With OnG being so weak in 7th Ed, I still did well and at least tied all my games vs. Undead. The only game I lost was vs. Chad. I had Animosity hit a boar boy unit with a bunch of banners that doomed them to be charged by his entire army and pulled defeat from the jaws of a draw. I still made 2nd place from my group and went to the final tournament.
In the final tournament, I played Ian in my first game. Not only is he a great player, even he agreed that my dice sucked. I got creamed. After that, though, I won all my next games. I came in 6th place overall.
Oh, one of the guys I beat last time was from the High Point area. He was a Brett player. He was such a bad sport about losing, that he refused to shake my hand! Someone else from that area said he was a prick. I was called a cheesy power gamer with my Orcs and Goblins.....
