Hello fellow Warhammer addicts. I'm Matt from just outside of Austin TX. I just caught my first episode (#4) of Bro hammer after seeing it talked about on direwolf_wh and nearly fell out of my seat at work yesterday laughing when the "Real Men of Warhammer" Ad. SO I just had to post. I go interested in and started playing Warhammer about 8 years ago when I found a local game store near my office and was hooked. Currently I have about 7 Fantsy armies amd 3 40K armies in various states of disarray but still try to play a few times a month or at least hit the monthly local 3 rounder. Shortly after I got started I found out the TX has a very cool Indy GT scene and was further sucked into the hobby. I'm a regular at the Lonewolf in Dallas, Bayou Battles in Houston and The Alamo in San Antonio, WGC (BoLSCon) in Austin, and the Hombre in Killeen (my first and sadly now defunct). About 4 years ago me and some buddies decided it was a travesty that there wasn't a Fantasy IGT in the capital of TX! Shortly afterwords Capital City Carnage IGT was born! CCC 2011 will the be third year! If you always wanted to come to Austin and wanted to get some great Fantasy Warhammer in come to CCC Jun 4-5! www.blacklotusarts.com/capitalcitycarnage/home.htm

Nice to meet you Matt Welcome to the forums! Dude, "Real Men of Warhammer" still cracks me up, and I have heard them dozens of times. Hahah I am glad you enjoyed it...more to come Texas has a robust IGT scene for sure. A local gamer here has gone to the Lonewolf several times, he even won it a few years back. Perhaps you have played him or met him, Lance Lagrue? I would like to get over to Texas to play in one of the big IGT's but that will be a few years if it ever happens. I gotta' get these girls of mine growed up a little first I look forward to seeing you around brother! -Erik

Awww come on you know you wanna come to Austin the the Capital City Carnage...... I have the same challenges these days with my 2 year old daughter as well, I used to have a lot more more time for the hobby.
Lance sounds familiar, I've probably met, drank beer, or played him at the Lonewolf.
Seriously if any of your players up there like to travel I can highly recommend any of the TX IGTs especially my own, the Capital City Carnage in Austin (shameless self promotion).
I'll guarantee you that I'll have your podcast on the next time I find the time to paint.

I am looking forward to taking a plane to tournaments outside the Midwest in the coming years, and I'll seek your advice when that time comes!

All of the Texas Tournaments fill up fast and most end up with a waiting list. So be sure to plan ahead. Of course I'll pimp my own group's tournament Capital City Carnage in Austin as the best! But they are all a blast and can recommend them all: Lonewolf in Dallas, Bayou Battles in Houston and The Alamo in San Antonio (these guys also do a separate 40K tourny at a diff part of the year) , War Games Con (BoLS Con with both Fantasy and 40K for 4 days) in Austin, the only one I have never made it to is the Wasteland Wars in Lubbock.
