Alrighty folks Painter's Challenge 3! This is a model make-over. Here are the parameters: Take a model (any model) that has been previously painted. Either strip it completely and start from scratch or just give it a facelift. There will have to be before and after photos for this one of course. Bonus points for truly hideous starting models Contest will close on May 22nd. Gentlemen, pour your simple green! -Erik

I'll drop some tips here because I just recently did this so I may not participate unless I find something really that bad. Almost all of my Night Goblin army is second hand, but, no before pictures. Three things I have found to work amazingly are Eazy-Off oven cleaner, Casterol Super-Clean and PineSol. Make sure that you use all of them in very well ventilated areas and wear gloves. Easy Off- Its a little bit more time comsuming but it really does clean the hell out of the metal. Just make sure you spray it on good and let it sit over night. May require a few applications. Compleatly safe for plastic. Wont soften it at all from what I experienced. I left a dryad as a test all sprayed up in a bag for a month and it was just perfect. Breathing protection is a must unless you want to look like a Fallout ghoul and sound like Carrie Fisher. Castrol SuperClean - This stuff is so freaking amazing. It doesnt smell too bad and it usually only requires a few hours of soak. Most of the time the paint just washes off under the tap after an over night soak. Minimal brushing required. (My Secret formula is two cups of this and a cup of Pine Sol. Soak Overnight and brush. It works amazing on all paints) Lysol - Works so fantasticly on metal. But beware it will indeed melt plastic after too long of a soak. Others - I know people that have had a lot of luck with Brake Fluid, Simple Green and engine degreaser. If you have any other tips then by all means post them here. I also know that Target sells dental picks which really help for those hard to clear out places. Hope this all helps. Good luck everyone

Remember Walks, you don't have to strip a model to participate. You can take an existing paint job that you are unhappy with and just "kick it up a notch" Emeril style!
I am thinking of revisiting my DoC army for this one. But I might strip a black orc or something as well.

I think I have a good one for this one. I have a few dwarfs that I hate from a previous dwarf incarnation. I may do one of those models.
