Hey all, New listener in Atlanta, mainly just play friendly games and small tournaments around the Atlanta area but am looking to travel to some larger events soon. I currently play Dwarfs and Empire but have large collections of Skaven, Orcs and Gobbos, Wood Elves and a smattering of other armies. As with many people my ability to acquire miniatures far outpaces my ability to get them painted. I am really enjoying the podcast. It is a bit more sedate and laid back than some of the other casts I listen to. A nice contrast with the antics of the Pointhammered boys and the UK centric viewpoint of Heelanhammer, Bad Dice and those crazy Black Sun guys but I enjoy them all. Please keep them coming. Welcome, Eric! I'd like to hear what your lists look like. I am working on a 2nd dwarf army myself, and I just procured enough empire to clear the lustrian jungles.

We mostly play 2500 pts around my area. This is a list that I am going to take to a tourney coming up soon.
Since the tournament has some objective based games I am not concentrating so much on the killing power of the blocks but rather their ability to hold up units while taking pot shots at "beardy" level 4 casters that can ruin my day with the runed up cannons and GT.
The HW/Shield warriors, the IB's and the Hammerers are running 5 wide. The GW warriors run 6 wide 6 deep. The single Dragon Slayer makes a nice counter to anyone that tries to go after my war machines with something like skinks or terradons (we tend to see a lot of lizardmen in my area)

Hey eflo, welcome aboard. I would suggest that you also check out the website www.WarNC.com. It is a site we are trying to develop for southeast tournaments. We just had 26 people show for a one day event with particpants from all around NC, Columbia SC and Virginia. We are having a two-day GT in Charlotte in the fall, followed by a region-wide Masters league and tournament. We would love to start connecting with folks around Atlanta.

Welcome to the forums Eflo! Thanks for "tuning in" and for sure, check out the link that Dan posted to link up with other gamers in the SE US.

Well, tournament went pretty well with two massacres and a loss. I managed to beat OnG and Vampires without losing much of anything but the 2nd game against Tomb Kings a bit of unfornuate luck put me on the back foot from the beginning.
He had two Warsphinxes and he rolled 1st turn, he moved them up and then when trying to get the movement spell off he got an IR and moved them again. It was a take and hold scenario and I should've deployed back board edge but I thought my blocks were hard enough to just squat on the objectives and grind him down (I was wrong)
The flaming cannon managed to put two wounds on one of the WS before it got into combat with my hammers block with LoSB and that one got ground out. The other one ended up in the flank of my 30 man warrior unit after overrunning my Organ Gun and despite an insane courage breaktest the Warriors eventually went down and I lost the game on scenario points.
My first game against the new Tomb Kings monsters and I have to say... The War Sphinxes are nasty, nasty, nasty... Worse than a hydra for sure. If I ever run up against those beasties again It'll be the back board edge and shell the crud out of them before they get to me.
