Well... we played today. I set up 2 tables and had over 4 of my friends from our local gaming club. I bought $50 worth of beer and made spagetti for dinner... CHAOS ensued.
First I'd like to point out that we decided to have a day where we brought the filthiest lists we could manage and throw em at each other.
I grabbed my newly formed daemon army and set about some mayhem.
My first game was against my friend Ken, He brought a DIRTY Teclis list.
I got curb stomped hard! First turn I got dwellers cast on a block of Bloodletters and it didn't do much. I think I lost one guy. He was under the impression that my bloodletters were carrying great weapons.
Second turn I failed 3 charges, and he cast dwellers again with similar effect. Third turn my BSB bloodletters unit charged 10 archers and got hit with 8 wounds from stand and shoot... it was sick. Then the dirty archers decided they wanted to pretend to be combat monsters and killed another 4 models in CC... I managed to kill 5 models and won combat. He held with a roll of 3 on his dice. Again my Bloodthirster failed a charge. Magic on my side was ok... I didnt take the right lore for my army.
Third turn, I fail yet another charge with my Bloodthirster, my bloodletters get multi charged and die a horrible death. Teclise shuts down my magic phase again and i'm getting destroyed in CC... at this point we realize that I already lost half my army and we decide to push on with the game for some practice.
I lose everything except my bloodthirster and hes about to charge it on turn 5. We call the game to start another. Huge loss for the Daemons.
Second game was VERY different. I played against a cc dark elf list. My Bloodthirster ate a hydra second turn. My Bloodcrushers did the same.
My BSB block of bloodletters hit a block of corsairs and chewed through them in about half a second as the bloodthirster hit them in the side on an overrun and was able to fight in a second round of combat that turn. Again the dark elf player didn't have any luck to speak of and I ate half that unit. He did have some stubborn banner or some rule that made him stubborn... Maybe they were executioners or something. Anyway at the end of the game he had 1 block left and I had everything left.. game ended turn 3. We were playing blood and glory. I had all his standards but 2... His general died to a challenge by a bloodletter champion.
Game Three was against Dennis. He was playing High Elves. it was a knock down drag out fight that ended in turn 6... Dawn attack was the mission. After calculating Victory points I had 76 points on him. I've only had one other game where I was so evenly matched with an army. That was at the tournament against the Empire player Steve. Again the bloodcrushers were a terrible force to be reckoned with on the table. I wont get into the details but we both killed eachothers generals, his BSB was dead and If another turn had happened my full block of bloodletters would have hit his full block of spearmen Uglyness would have ensued.
Dirty list day was FUN! I recommend you all do this once in a while. If you know the filth is coming its WAY more fun to play against.
Daemons are 1/1/1
I hate Teclis. He is SO broken it isnt funny... Ken used him in his two games and completely destroyed both armies. Next time we game I'll have a better grasp of the Daemons... although I was asked to do beastmen next time... we'll see what I get together in 2 weeks!
