Well a new post means a new army.... well not new I've been collecting this one very slowly piece by piece and last night I decided to pull out some of the miniatures. I got to building and well... I guess I got carried away... First let me say that when I do this I'm pretty serious about assembling an army and playing them. The last army I did that with was the Space Wolves and they are fully painted. I think this is a good sign. Second, I felt it necessary to do this I know its insane and will never see a battle but man it looks cool! All I need to do is assemble the riders and Walla... Instant Core! I could play Bretonnians but why when I have a HORDE of heavy Cav! I guess thats one way to start a project LOL

That is very ambitious. Go for it! You have the blessing of Sigmar.

I've seen units of 10-12 Empire Knights (with character) work out well. Give them the Flaming Banner and Warrior Priest for hatred and they are great for killing regenerating monsters.
Oh, and I have ADD and I'm terrible at finishing a project!

Horray for basecoats All of my Khorne models have a base coat on em. Now to do a few test models and then pick off some time to make this go as FAST as possible.

Here is the test model, keep in mind he is rank and file so I didn't do as good a job as I would have on the Command models. Start to Dip 30 minutes batch painting will be faster now that I know how I want em to look. Chris

I got home and inspected my miniature now that the dip has had a chance to set up some... I'm not happy, not happy at all. It looks like CRAP. I'm going to hold off smashing the miniature until after I get a chance to hit it with some dull coat though...Kidding I wont smash it. If it still looks like crap I dont think I'll be using dip for these guys. It may just be the light reflecting off his skin that is throwing me off. God I hope so.

Dull coate is the secret to dipping, it blends everything together. The figs look like crap until you get the matte on. Did you dip the fig or did you brush the dip on?

Good luck Chris. Let us know how the dull coat works.

One thing I just noticed. I don't know how well your basing material will stick to any dip that gets on the base. You might want to texture your bases before dipping anymore (if you decide you want to keep dipping).
Also after you put dip on the fig, wait 30 seconds and use a brush to remove any excess. tHat cuts down on the pooling effect.

Looks like its gonna be an hour and a half per rank of bloodletters. I have 11 ranks left to do and I'm sure it'll speed up as I go. I just finished the first full rank of normal dudes. The command will take a bit longer to do and I think I'm going to paint both units command tomorrow when I wake up. That way its done and out of the way. Progress pics to come as I get rank upon rank of bloodletters done. Here they are;

Okie dokie, I was assembling my Empire Halberdiers and decided I HATE THE MODELS. I was having a terrible time of it, and decided that before I threw em across the room I was gonna see how one looked painted. Well... seeing em like this has changed my mind. I loved painting him and spend WAY too much time on him. This guy was the test model and the rest will NOT have their eyes painted as I suck at it anyway.
