Ok, just to get things rolling, here is the list I'm planning for 2500 points. I've tested it a lot on the Lorenzo server and it plays pretty well.
Lord of Change - MoS (Beasts), Spell Destroyer, Daemonic Robes Herald of Khorne - BSB, Armour of Khorne, Firestorm Blade Herald of Tzeentch - MoS (Life), Spell Breaker
32 Bloodletters - Full Cmd, Icon of Endless War 18 Daemonettes - Full Cmd 29 Horrors - Std, Mus, Icon of Sorcery
6 Flesh Hounds 6 Seekers, Full Cmd
As always, I'm a chronic list-tweaker but this is a good solid force to get me started so I am sticking with this through the initial painting. After that I'll add enough to get to 3K or more.
After it's all done, the plan is to have the following available for use:
Lords:
Bloodthirster Lord of Change Prince
Heroes:
Herald BSB on Jugger Herald on Jugger Tzeentch Herald Slaanesh Herald on Steed Tzeentch Herald on Chariot Khorne Herald on Foot Slaanesh Herald on Foot
Core:
40 Bloodletters, 2 sets of Cmd 40 Daemonettes, 2 sets of Cmd 40 Horrors, 2 sets of Cmd
Special:
15 Hounds 9 Seekers 9 Screamers
Rare
5 Bloodcrushers 6 Flamers
Everything is already bought except for 6 Screamers and 1 box of Daemonettes and a couple of foot Heralds (that I'm thinking of getting from 2 Black Dragons) so it's just a matter of painting it all at this point. I should have plenty of versatility at 2500 and 3K once it's all done to try lots of different things.

Thanks Dave!
I settled on the snow and rock bases to get that stark contrast because the whole army is going to be done in the blood red color-scheme. Background-wise it's a multi-Power force that's been serving the whims Khorne for so long they've adapted the color. For me, it's because I've never done a predominantly red army and because I'm not fond of the mixed color scheme in a mixed Daemon force. The test models of a horror and Daemonettes turned out nice in the scheme so I went with it.

Here is my first unit of Flesh Hounds. I have another box that I'm prepping slowly...the second batch will likely become my primary unit as this unit was painted at different times and I think the second will turn out better.

Some more progress today. Got the next five Bloodletters built and greenstuffed.
Also rec'd my new plastic Daemon Prince via mail today that I got in a trade. Already cleaned him up and built him. Going to work on filling some gaps with greenstuff tonight. What a freakin great model. I used a variety of parts and have ended up with a winged and armored Daemon.
Now, I'd also been drilling and building my Thirster. I put the two up beside each other today. In body size (torso and legs) the current Bloodthirster and the Prince are virtually the same height. The Prince body even actually has a more bulky look to it. The Thirster wings are slightly larger than the Prince wings, and stick more up into the air while the wings on the Prince are more half-furled behind him. But since you can't target based on wings, that's moot.
Since the bodies are the same size essentially, I'm Khorning up the Prince model and he's going to be a Thirster for me.
This week's plan on the Daemons is to start greenstuffing on the Prince. Prime the Letters and get rolling on them. Finish the last Hound for the first unit (so I won't have to use the Karanak model) and work on sculpting some armor for my Herald and basecoating his Juggernaut.

Looking great! I love the bases.
I'm always drawn to Khorne as well, must be all that red.
Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more.

Getting the chance to do the whole army in red (even though it's not all Khorne) was one thing I'm really liking. All the years I've played this game, including right through GW's Red Period, and I've never painted a predominantly red colored force. It's a nice departure for me. Jim

Red is definitely a strong color and makes for a striking force on the tabletop.

The majority of gaming tables tend to be green flock so a red coloured army will always pop to the veiwing passer by as these colours work well against eachother. This will help if you plan to show the army at events. Also the snow bases will help to set them apart from the more common ash and lava bases that seem to be very common.
I cannot comment on the latest models as the work comp does not show the photos but will check them out later.

Last night ended up being more of a build n prime night than a painting night but was productive nonetheless. The next 5 BLs are primed and ready. Spent another couple of hours greenstuffing the Plastic Prince. I have to do him in stages to keep from touching other gs before it's cured. Makes him slow going. Going to make a big symbol of Khorne for his chest tonight and fill in the last few gaps. He should be ready for primer tomorrow night. Going to try to take some stage-by-stage pics of the BLs this time.
